Babylon

With a population just over 200,000, Babylon, New York is able to crack the list of the 100 most populous cities in the United States. Best known for the Fire Island area at its southernmost tip which hosts a large summer community of gay and lesbian vacationers, Babylon has seen growth and prosperity in other areas in recent years, including: technology spending and large infrastructure projects that have greatly enhanced the quality of life there. Babylon is nowhere near as big as Manhattan, but still boasts a relatively high median income of over $60,000 per year thanks to many residents who have achieved financial success in New York City and then chosen to take up residence in this peaceful town. 10% of Babylon is made up of Hispanic or Latino individuals – making Spanish the second language of choice in local schools and the business community. And with the international airports of New York City close by, it's easy to jet off to exotic foreign locales after you learn a new language in Babylon.
