Our German speakers, fully qualified to teach their native tongue, can train you and, if need be, the rest of your group at a time that is suitable to you, at your home or place of work. Sessions can take place on the day of your choosing - even weekends - and at the time you want: whether it be morning, afternoon or evening. If circumstances arise where your home or office is not convenient, the classes can be held at your trainer's office. Resources for the lesson are provided for you.
These German lessons fit a broader spectrum, and can be useful for those who need different things from the language. Most beginner students will have a handle of survival German by the end of their lesson, which will provide them with enough German to communicate at least at a basic level during short trips to the country, but those who require more would benefit greatly from these sessions. Typical students have been those eager to travel all over the world, those buying overseas property, those with foreign spouses, aficionados of German culture and those who just wish to pass a particular German exam.
These lessons in German are meant for those that feel that learning German would make a change in their work. For starters, it is expedient to learn how to say hello/goodbye, as well as basic business protocol; once the basics have been mastered, reading and writing come to the fore. Students who have greatly benefitted have been involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational companies where another language is required, and those working in the international academia and government circuits. Even on our most fundamental beginner's lesson, students can anticipate ending the lesson with basic telephone German and e-mail German skills for communicating, as well as survival German if a short visit to the country is needed.
If there are 2 or more of you with the same level of German, the same targets within the language, and be able to study at the same time and location, then you'll be happy to know that these German lessons can also be made available for Two-to-One German Lessons or Small Group In-Company German Lessons. Listen & Learn do not generally recommend classes of more than 6-8 people, although Taster lessons in German can run with up to 12 people. Bookings must be made for all participants at the same time.
German uses the same 26 letters as English, with the addition of three vowels with 'Umlaut's (ä, ö and ü) and ß, ('Eszett' or 'sharp s').
The main German-speaking nations are Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Luxembourg; but the language is also spoken in parts of Denmark, Russia, Hungary and Kazakhstan

German Testimonials
"The German course is going great. German is a very difficult language - I didn't think I would be able to understand the grammar, but it is starting to make sense! Susanne has been a great teacher. She has so much patience and we actually have fun during our time together. "
Vancouver
Time after time regarded as one of North America's most livable cities, Vancouver is an enviable place to launch any sort of studies. Languages in particular are a choice field of study, due to Vancouver's tolerant, inclusive and welcoming approach to multiculturalism in an urban environment. Make that an urbane environment too - for Vancouver is also ranked third in the world after the Swiss cities Zürich and Geneva for the highest quality of life! An open-minded, multilingual and educated attitude amongst Vancouver locals goes hand in hand with an appreciation for the great outdoors. Blessed with close-proximity surf, snow and sun, Vancouver is a great place to get out there and active in those necessary study breaks! Plus, the diversity of available languages in Vancouver is astounding. With approximately half the number of city and metropolitan region residents speaking a first language other than English, there's plenty of opportunity to practice your new language.
