Our native speaker qualified Japanese language teachers can train you and your colleagues at your office or home at a time to suit you. Classes can be any day of the week (even weekends) in the morning, afternoon or evening. In certain circumstances, if your home or office is not suitable, you can take your classes at the trainer's office. Course books are provided.
These courses in Japanese are wider-ranging in their nature, and are driven towards students who have a variety of differing needs. All beginner students will expect to study enough survival Japanese to get them through a short visit to the country, those staying on with the course can progress differently, depending on their individual requests and requirements. Whether you are buying property in a foreign country, married to a foreign national, planning a round-the-world trip, interested in Japanese history and culture, or if you simply want to attain a particular level of Japanese, this is the choice for you.
Japanese courses of this type are aimed towards those that need to learn Japanese to aid them with their employment. For those just starting out, it is integral to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and reading and writing can be adopted once the simple precepts are out of the way. Success has come from students who are involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, those seeking jobs in multinational companies, and those working with foreign colleagues, academia and bureaucracy. Just our most basic beginners course will have the student finishing the course with basic telephone/e-mail skills in Japanese, as well as survival Japanese should a short stay in the country be needed.
Those wishing to learn Japanese in groups of 2 or more together (Two-to-One Japanese Courses or Small Group In-Company Japanese Courses) can sign up for our group classes. All students must be at nearly the same level of Japanese proficiency, must have the same needs from the language, and must be able to study at the same time and place as the others. Bookings must be made for all students simultaneously. Listen & Learn do not propose group sizes or more than 6-8 people, but In-Company Taster Japanese Courses can occur with up to 12 people.
Particles' are used often in Japanese - small words which denote how words in a sentence relate to one another
Japanese vocabulary is scattered with loan words, mainly from English, Chinese and Dutch
Japanese nouns have no gender, number or case - so the word 'hana', which means 'flower', will always be in that form if used as a noun
Japanese Testimonials
"I really enjoyed the program of my Japanese course. Eiko was really organized with my lessons and really professional. She has been as pleasant and as reliable as she has been since I started. I wish I can continue with the course, but I will be moving to Taiwan very soon. I really appreciate your help! Best Regards, Johnny,"
Buffalo
A city in the west of New York State, Buffalo is the second largest city in the state, with around 300,000 residents in the urban area. Historically a hotspot for early US industry, nowadays the city is often noted for its abundance of greenery found in the city's numerous public parks. Like most of the New York area, there is a great deal of ethnic variety throughout the city, especially on the West side; and people living in Buffalo would be well accustomed to hearing speakers of Spanish, German, Italian, Polish, Chinese and many other foreign tongues. This cosmopolitan nature combined with a reputation for friendliness makes Buffalo a perfect base for learning a new language.
