Our native-speaking qualified Latin teachers can guide you and your group at your work or at home, at a time convenient to you. Classes can take place on any day of the week - even weekends - morning, afternoon or evening. If needs be, if meeting at your office or home is not suitable, you can take your lessons at the trainer's office. Study materials are supplied for you.
Latin lessons of this type are broader and are aimed towards students with a variety of requirements. While all beginner level students will cover survival Latin - needed for short visits to countries where English isn't widely spoken, or if you wish to 'go local'; those studying Latin usually go in different directions at this point, depending on what they need. Those who have benefitted from these Latin classes have been those investing in or buying property overseas, those married to overseas nationals, people setting off on a round-the-world trip, enthusiasts in Latin culture, and those enthusiastic to pass a specific exam in Latin.
These Latin lessons are driven towards people who have a requirement to learn Latin to bolster their work output. For novices, you will find it useful to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and once you have become more proficient then reading and writing will come to the fore. Typical students include those concerned with import/export, those seeking work in multinational companies, international negotiations, and anyone working with international colleagues or administration. Even on our most rudimentary beginners lesson, students can expect to finish the lesson with decent telephone and e-mail Latin, as well as a good enough grip on the language for a short trip to the country.
The Latin lessons are also available for 2 or more people studying together (Two-to-One Latin Lesson or Small Group In-Company Latin Lesson). All participants must have the same level, the same business or general language needs and be able to study at the same time in the same location. The booking must be made for all participants at the same time. Listen & Learn do not recommend group classes of more than 6-8 people although In-Company Taster Latin Lessons can be run with up to 12 people.
Anaheim
Don't tell the people of Anaheim, California that they live in a suburb of Los Angeles. This fast-growing city has a culture and an attitude all its own. When urban sprawl first hit Los Angeles, many residents moved south to Anaheim where they could enjoy more space to build their homes and start their businesses. As a result, Anaheim has become the center of Orange County, and is now known for much more than its most famous residents: Mickey Mouse and Disneyland. The Hispanic population of Anaheim is significant, as would be expected with its proximity to the Mexican-United States border. Hispanic men and women currently comprise over 40% of the entire population, making Spanish an ideal language to learn if you live in the area. Also prominent in Anaheim are Asian-Americans, African-Americans and of course the thousands of different nationalities who visit the Disneyland theme park every year. You might say it is the 'happiest place on Earth' to learn a new language!
