Latin Lessons in Honolulu

Our Latin speakers, fully qualified to teach their native tongue, can train you and, if need be, the rest of your group at a time that is suitable to you, at your home or place of work. Sessions can take place on the day of your choosing - even weekends - and at the time you want: whether it be morning, afternoon or evening. If circumstances arise where your home or office is not convenient, the classes can be held at your trainer's office. Resources for the lesson are provided for you.

Latin 1 to 1 General

These Latin lessons fit a broader spectrum, and can be useful for those who need different things from the language. Most beginner students will have a handle of survival Latin by the end of their lesson, which will provide them with enough Latin to communicate at least at a basic level during short trips to the country, but those who require more would benefit greatly from these sessions. Typical students have been those eager to travel all over the world, those buying overseas property, those with foreign spouses, aficionados of Latin culture and those who just wish to pass a particular Latin exam.

Latin 1 to 1 Business

Latin lessons of this type are aimed towards those that need to learn Latin to aid them with their employment. For those just starting out, it is integral to learn basic greetings and business etiquette; and reading and writing can be adopted once the simple precepts are out of the way. Success has come from students who are involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, those seeking jobs in multinational companies, and those working with foreign colleagues, academia and bureaucracy. Just our most basic beginners lesson will have the student finishing the lesson with basic telephone/e-mail skills in Latin, as well as survival Latin should a short stay in the country be needed.

Latin Group Lessons

2 or more people can benefit studying Latin together as these Latin lessons are also offered to groups (Two-to-One Latin Lesson or Small Group In-Company Latin Lesson). Every student must have the same degree of knowledge of the language, the same business or language needs and the ability to study at the same time and place as everybody else. The booking has to be made for all students at the same time. Listen & Learn do not advocate group sessions of more than 6-8 people, though Taster Latin Lessons can be experienced by up to 12 people.

Honolulu

The commerce capital of the Hawaiian Islands, Honolulu may look, at first glance, like any other bustling American city. But closer inspection reveals a place that has both accepted its relatively new American status, but stayed true to the native roots that have helped the islands thrive and survive for generations. The primary industry in Honolulu is tourism, with millions of people flying in every year to enjoy the tropical climate. The number one tourist attraction in the city is the Pearl Harbor Memorial, which commemorates the bombing of American troops there (and led to America's entrance into WWII). There are hundreds of foreign languages that can benefit you in Honolulu, but Japanese is a great place to start. Japanese tourists and businesspeople make up a significant percentage of the community on any given day, so speaking the language is a potential benefit.
