Burqueño, one of Albuquerque's favorite slang terms!

<<< Back to Slang USA Cities Map
(noun) A resident of Albuquerque

Especially those with a Mexican background (although this is not required)

Phil: “That’s because I’m a Burqueño, bro.”

Carlos: “Shit man, you ain´t no Burqueño, you´re an Albuquerquean.”

Phil: “Bullshit, so I can’t be a Burqueño cuz I’m white?”

Carlos: “Nah, man, that’s got nothin’ to do with it. A real Burqueño´s got chili running through his veins, yo. He’s all about the Lobos and the food trucks.”

The term Burqueño references the town’s Mexican heritage, and while you need not be Mexican to be a Burqueño, it is imperative that you were born in Albequerque and fully embrace everything about the way of life there.
