Used to describe someone who is struggling in some manner. Can also refer to someone craving something.
John: I’m really jonesing with this calculus.
Liam: I’ll help you with the quotient rule after I toss chow.
John: I should have expected that from a moto like you. Thanks, man.
“Jonesing” is a term that was originally coined by a local crack addict named Mr. Jones who would wander around the streets looking for a score. It has become a popular term among prep school kids in the Aurora area. They use it to signify that they are struggling to either accomplish something or to obtain something.
Lauryn Hill uses it well in “Neurotic Society”
