Minty, one of Aurora's favorite slang terms!

<<< Back to Slang USA Cities Map
(adjective) Cool; hip

Used to describe something that is socially acceptable.

Johnny: Check out my new threads.  I was poppin’ tags yesterday.

Steve: Lookin’ quite minty, my brotha!

Johnny: I can’t believe how much money I saved.

The word “minty” comes from the cool feeling you get in your mouth when you eat a mint.  It references something that people think is cool or hip, and replaces the word cool, but holds the exact same meaning.  It is simply a fresher way to say you like something.  It is used among the prep school kids in the Aurora area.

It's referenced in Rewind’s song “I Heard She Kisses (I Hershey Kisses)” feat. Sire.
