<<< Back to Slang USA Cities Map
(noun) The manner in which someone carries themselves

It often refers to the quality of his or her style, confidence, and attitude. The word usually has a positive connotation.

Chiara: “Man, have you seen Keaira LaShae's new video? That girl has got swag! The choreography is so tight.”

Pearl: “She does make her own swag sauce.”

Chiara: “And it's nice and spicy.”

“Swag” dates back to the 1520s, originally meaning “to move heavily or unsteadily.” It appeared in popular hip hop again in the 1990s. Nowadays, it has many different meanings, but the most common is the one listed above.

Keaira LaShae has definitely got swag. In “Frankie” she sings, “I buy my own shit, make my own swag sauce.”
