Coke, one of Dallas's favorite slang terms!

(noun) A carbonated drink; non-alcoholic drinks; soft drinks.

It is used to refer to ALL fizzy drinks, not just Coca-Cola.    


Madison: “This movie is so boring!  I’m gonna fix me a drink.  Want a coke?”

Ava: “Yeah – grab me a 7Up.”

Madison: “Sure thing!  Anything else?”

Ava: Nah: “Oh, actually, get me a candy bar from the fridge.”


Coke is used by people of all ages to refer to a fizzy drink.  It is not related at all to the Coco-Cola brand, and can be quite confusing for somebody from out of town who is offered a coke, accepts, and is then given something different to what they were expecting.
