A Turn Out
(noun) The number of people who go to an event.

It can be a good turn out (meaning lots of people attended), or a bad turn out (meaning not so many people were present). When written, the words are sometimes joined to create one word.

Nina: It was my grandmother’s funeral last Thursday – such a sad day.

Angie: I know, I’m sorry honey.  I hope you feel better soon.

Nina: Yeah.  She was old.  98.  It was a lovely day though, she’d’ve liked it, and we had a real good turn out.

Angie: That’s nice – she must have been well liked.

The term can be used for almost any event or situation where a certain number of people is expected.
