While all beginner level students will cover survival Slovak - needed for short visits to countries where English isn't widely spoken, or if you wish to 'go local'; those studying Slovak usually go in different directions at this point, depending on what they need. Slovak 1 to 1 Business

These lessons in Slovak are meant for those that feel that learning Slovak would make a change in their work. For starters, it is expedient to learn how to say hello/goodbye, as well as basic business protocol; once the basics have been mastered, reading and writing come to the fore. Students who have greatly benefitted have been involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational companies where another language is required, and those working in the international academia and government circuits. Even on our most fundamental beginner's lesson, students can anticipate ending the lesson with basic telephone Slovak and e-mail Slovak skills for communicating, as well as survival Slovak if a short visit to the country is needed.

Slovak Group Lessons

The Slovak lessons are also available for 2 or more people studying together (Two-to-One Slovak Lesson or Small Group In-Company Slovak Lesson). All participants must have the same level, the same business or general language needs and be able to study at the same time in the same location. The booking must be made for all participants at the same time. Listen & Learn do not recommend group classes of more than 6-8 people although In-Company Taster Slovak Lessons can be run with up to 12 people.

Baton Rouge

While the eyes of the world were focused on the post-Katrina recovery of New Orleans, lost was the never-ending spirit of the people of Baton Rouge, the capital city of Louisiana. Also hit hard by the massive storm, Baton Rouge provided a steadying influence on residents of the state at a time when things looked their most dire. The 70th largest city in the United States, Baton Rouge is a unique place with a colorful history tied to French, American and Native American tradition. Proximity to the mouth of the Mississippi River has made it a major port for importing and exporting of goods in the United States. Currently, Baton Rouge is home to over 200,000 residents many of whom work in the state political offices found in the heart of the city. The makeup of Baton Rouge is as unique as its name, with a healthy mixture of American, African-American, Creole and other heritages. Getting in touch with the unique history of this wonderful city is easy for those who take the time to learn a foreign language.
