Russian lessons of this type are broader and are aimed towards students with a variety of requirements. While all beginner level students will cover survival Russian - needed for short visits to countries where English isn't widely spoken, or if you wish to 'go local'; those studying Russian usually go in different directions at this point, depending on what they need. Those who have benefitted from these Russian classes have been those investing in or buying property overseas, those married to overseas nationals, people setting off on a round-the-world trip, enthusiasts in Russian culture, and those enthusiastic to pass a specific exam in Russian.
These lessons in Russian are meant for those that feel that learning Russian would make a change in their work. For starters, it is expedient to learn how to say hello/goodbye, as well as basic business protocol; once the basics have been mastered, reading and writing come to the fore. Students who have greatly benefitted have been involved in import/export, international negotiations and acquisitions, jobseekers in multinational companies where another language is required, and those working in the international academia and government circuits. Even on our most fundamental beginner's lesson, students can anticipate ending the lesson with basic telephone Russian and e-mail Russian skills for communicating, as well as survival Russian if a short visit to the country is needed.
The Russian lessons are also available for 2 or more people studying together (Two-to-One Russian Lesson or Small Group In-Company Russian Lesson). All participants must have the same level, the same business or general language needs and be able to study at the same time in the same location. The booking must be made for all participants at the same time. Listen & Learn do not recommend group classes of more than 6-8 people although In-Company Taster Russian Lessons can be run with up to 12 people.

Russian Testimonials
"For my first lesson, I received the same top quality Russian language lesson that Listen and Learn promise to maintain. Having been an instructor at one time, I am in the habit of testing fellow instructors regarding their knowledge and their ability to teach. Well I am happy to inform you that my first lesson exceeded my expectations in all aspects! Not only did Maria impose the degree of professionalism that was warranted, she is very knowledgeable and she has that knack for sensing the approach a particular student should have in order for that student to learn, and more importantly, for that student to want to learn. Maria achieved the element of trust that must first be established between an instructor and their student in order for a student's mind to open itself to the learning process. Now, I only hope that I can achieve my own objectives!"
Ottawa
Ottawa may be only the fourth largest city in Canada, but it is the capital of the nation, and as such is a leader in terms of government, commerce and even entertainment. With a population of well over a million people, Ottawa is a melting pot, where individuals from all over the country come to live and do business in the robust economy. Ottawa is home to the finest museums in Canada as well as a number of national landmarks. The town's professional hockey team, the Ottawa Senators, recently won a championship, bringing additional pride to a city that treasures hockey above all other sports. The ethnic makeup of Ottawa is unique as well, with a large number of South Asian, Chinese and Arab families calling the area home. With such a vibrant mixture of people, and the thriving international business community, this might be the best time to learn a new language in Ottawa. Arabic, Chinese, Spanish and Japanese are all considered 'hot' languages of the 21st century. Learning them, and others, will help individuals do business in the global economy and communicate more effectively with their neighbors.
